About Us
Our Mission
Our mission is to create opportunities for these talented women artisans in low income areas, enabling them to become self-sufficient and gain financial independence. By supporting their entrepreneurial ventures, we aim to uplift their communities and preserve traditional crafts.
We do this by curating a diverse range of high-quality, handcrafted products including clothing, accessories, home decor, and more. Each item carries a unique story and represents the rich cultural heritage of these talented women.
Who We Are
Mrs. Anu is a single mother of three children living in Makoko, who struggles to fend for herself and her children. Every day, she takes on about 4 different jobs, from walking on the streets of Yaba to getting a cleaning job to selling used handbags to cooking for women who run restaurants, all to cater to her basic needs and those of her children. Mrs. Anu also happens to have learned 4 different skills through the various empowerment programs held in her area, with the hope that one day, she would get the opportunity to use these skills to generate a good income that would lift her family out of Abject poverty.
The story of Mrs. Anu mirrors that of countless women in low-income areas and business success for Mrs. Anu means that these women get a sense of hope for what is achievable when given access to the right opportunities.
At Martvest Africa, we recognized the huge gap in women‘s empowerment, eradication of poverty, and business sustainability and we are bridging that gap by providing women in low-income areas access to business development training, funding opportunities, and access to a large market through our e-commerce platform.
Our Teams
Our dedicated team is composed of individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact. We work closely with the women in low income areas, providing them with guidance, resources, and training to enhance their skills and product offerings.
Together, we strive to bridge the gap between urban markets and these women, fostering a sustainable ecosystem that promotes fair trade and empowers women to thrive.
